Dear Ruth, Your Pollard column was published in the paper today and of course what would I expect from a jewish columnist working for the Washington Post except to be on the bandwagon to free Pollard.

Harvard is made up of what 60% jewish students? A sort of private school for jews only. Since you studied law there, you are no doubt under the sphere of influence of super-pro Israel Alan Dershowitz. Dershowitz's opinion regarding Israel and jews are widely publicized as he is a leading American proponent of Israel and he, "pulls a lot of weight", in certain circles.

This giant wave of propaganda to free Johnathan Pollard, I've seen in the last few months is nothing less than a full blown PR campaign to effect his release. Oh, the rationale will tug at your heart strings, you know, "His health isn't great and he will die if he's not released" To the absurd, that, Israel will stop building settlements by displacing Palestinians and Bedouins - my eye!

Since Pollards case is the new Cause célèbre in the "politically correct" circuit of the Washington liberal establishment, answer me this why free Pollard and why now? "Pollard is the only person in US history to receive a life sentence for spying for an ally,..."according to his Wikipedia entry - so what! The Israeli's took the information Pollard sold them and gave it to the Soviet Union!

In closing, I'm sure Obama will bow to the altar of Israel and release Pollard. Why, because the Israeli lobby wants it so. Releasing Pollard will just show how weak US foreign policy is and how weak the US government is in dealing with the Israeli lobby, caving in to its' every demand.

If you love Israel so much, why don't you move to Israel? There you can be happy with your own kind and not bother Americans with silly calls to release Pollard! I can't believe ANY American would support releasing this American traitor, even if he did spy for, "just an ally". If you want to wite about a real miscarriage of justice, then write about 84 year nun, Sister Megan Rice sentenced to 35 months in the Federal Pen for scrawling graffiti on a building at the unguarded  Y-12  nuclear facility that makes components for nuclear weapons.
