ReplyDeleteHow much better things would have turned out had Laquan McDonald (17 years old) simply not walked in the middle of the roadway while wielding a knife. But, unfortunately, simple things like obeying the law and complying with police orders to drop the knife is too much for negroes to handle.
Some reports say that McDonald was high on PCP, while others say that police had sought him because he was a suspect in a theft that had occurred.
A court of law may show that Van Dyke was out of policy and used excessive force when he fired into McDonald. But let’s be careful because these things have a way of changing once all the facts are considered and when the entire picture is weighed fairly.
If I am correct, McDonald’s family has already received a settlement from the City of Chicago.
You can rest assured now that Laquan McDonald will be given thug-hero status by ‘African-Americans’ everywhere. He will join the long list of black heroes such as Rodney King, Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, Freddie Gray, Jamar Clark, and so many others.
We must ask ourselves: If this is the kind of people that blacks will defend and esteem, what does this tell us about the moral caliber and discernment of the average ‘African-American’?
Most anyone with a conscience who has viewed the murder of the young black man Laquan McDonald in Chicago, was shocked and sickened by what they saw. I began to wonder about the personalities and background of “some” police officers. Folks – that was cold blooded murder; no gray area there.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the behavior of Laquan was certainly erratic and unusual (wielding a knife), he was walking away from the police officers. A bullet to the leg would have stopped him, and the officers surely would have been able to retrieve the knife and make the arrest.
Now it has come out that the white police officer had 18 complaints against him in the last 14 years:

“The white Chicago police officer charged with first-degree murder in the deadly shooting of a black teenager has amassed 18 civilian complaints against him over 14 years.
James Van Dyke has been accused of using racial slurs and excessive force, according to police and court documents. Complaints against police aren’t uncommon, but the number against Van Dyke was particularly high and at least one was linked to a civil trial where jurors awarded damages to someone he arrested.” [1] -source
THE PROBLEM IS WIDE SPREAD
I was discussing this event with my daughter, and what she told me prompted me to write this article. Years ago, my daughter dated a police officer. We live in Maryland. She told me that one night the officer said to her “It’s n**** hunting time.” My daughter thought that he was kidding, but he was very serious. She finally ended that relationship after realizing that this man was violent, racist and psychologically unbalanced.
This officer had untold number of complaints of unnecessary violence on his record. He was brought before his superiors on each count of violence, but through his 23 years of service, he received little more than a slap on the wrist.
IT’S TIME TO CHANGE THE HIRING PROCESS OF POLICE OFFICERS
I believe that the majority of police officers choose that vocation to help society and to keep the public safe. But I also believe that many are joining the ranks of the police force because they have an unhealthy hunger for power, and have racist views which they can act upon on the job. This must stop!
When a jury is selected for a trial, each prospective juror is interviewed to make sure that they would be suitable to serve. Isn’t it just as important to vet a prospective police officer to ensure that they are hiring someone suitable to serve the community – especially since the officers will be issued weapons to use at their discretion?
When a man or woman seeks a job as a police office, I believe that it is critical to do a host of psychological tests on this person. I also believe that each applicant should be interviewed by at least two psychiatrists.
Brethren, we should pray for the family of Laquan McDonald. Can you imagine the heartache they have been suffering since losing him?
People are sounding off about the “black on black” murders in Chicago. That is a different issue, and should not be discussed when speaking of the murder of this young man by the police officer. The gang violence is horrific, and I believe that it has much to do with the breakdown of the family. This article is not about that – it is about a 17 year old who will never grow up. It is about someone who might not have asked Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior, and now he will never get that chance.

Maranatha is right, this is a tragedy for all involved. I'm sorry if I come accross as an unfeeling, unsympathetic clod when I wrote this, however I'm sick of all the black thuggery and violence.
